Started Milngavie May 16 1997.
Ended Fort William 22/5/97.
Day 2 from Loch Lomond was torrential rain and a total soaking so we took a boat across to a very weird hotel at Ardlui and checked in - only 4 people in the entire hotel that was clearly geared up for American coach tours. We were so soaked that even paracetamol in zip lock bags had melted. So we wacked up the "do no touch the heater" heater and went to dinner only to come back to find the room was our very own sauna and everything was dry.
Next day we took the train around to replace a half day walk that looked dull, my water bottle (a squash bottle) decided to give up the ghost soaking some of my kit again, so big bertha was purchased (large red sigg bottle).
On one day's walk we finished the walk at lunch time and the campsite no longer existed (change of ownership at a pub) so we completed the next day's walk and wild camped with one other tent next to a stream. Bit of walk back to a pub where the only other customers were the people in the other tent and we woke up with deer grazing around us.
Detour into Glen Coe for 1 day & last day over 3 monroes from Kinlochlevel (Sgurr an Iubhair, An Bodach, Sgurr a Mhaim over Devils Ridge via the Ring of Steall rather than following the boring path around the mountains.
