Here is a photograph taken when canal boating - it was pouring with rain and these fisherman were huddling under their umbrellas to keep off the worst of it.

Unruly Clematis
My first house had a mixture of trellis and green plastic fencing running for the 10 to 15 feet between the garage and "porch" on the back of the house & growing on that were a couple of clematis. What a mess, I don't think they had ever been pruned and as a deciduous plant it spent a significant part of the year as just a mass of woody old stuff and more of the year as woody old stuff covered in a mess of green leaves. Then would come flowering and everything would change, for a disappointly short time the whole thing would be transformed into a mass of pink and white flowers attracting hordes of busy bees all calmy collecting nectar.
